A brief artist statement:

I hope to entertain the viewer. I am an introvert striving to create outgoing "extroverted" art. Whether it be surreal and ridiculous, or playful and alluring. I am a showman at heart. Not all people are interested in "art", but all wish to be entertained. Though I primarily paint for myself, It is important that my paintings communicate well with the viewer. It doesn't matter what they THINK about my work, only that they are entertained and engaged. A smile will suffice.

I enjoy creating playful work. I'm too aloof to expose myself, to bare my soul (I probably am, anyhow). I play when I create, and I hope this playfulness transmits to the viewer. If it isn't fun, it isn't done. This playful mindset roots back to my involvement with cartooning.

I strive to be unique. I pride myself on being self-taught, or "naive". I guess I am stubborn when I brush off advice or criticism. I create art that is consistent with all I know and have done before, cautiously avoiding comparisons to other artists. To stand alone.
