Here are three more surrealism, abstract pencil, digital illustration sketches. These were originally pencil sketches, then were digitally colored. I use Paint Shop Pro. One day I’ll get Photoshop if I decide to involve more time in digital work.

Cartoon comic strip. 1973, 8 years old

I have been creating stuff since childhood. I began cartooning comic strips when I was 8 years old, way back in 1973. I created hundreds of cartoon comic strips, all for personal pleasure. In the early 1980′s I drew comics for the local town newspaper in Okotoks, Canada (The Western Wheel) and my high school yearbooks.  I officially stopped drawing cartoons in 1987 in favor of artwork painting. In 1996 the cartoon influences from my early years were integrated into my art styles.

Pencil, digital artwork sketches

Almost all of the oil paintings I create originate as preliminary pencil or digital artwork sketches. Here are three examples. Each of these sketches are an equal mix of pencil and digital work. None of these images have been oil painted yet.
